Details:

Dominique MENERET, from a wine growers family in St-Emilion, purchased this estate in 1998. Domaine de Courteillac is located on the highest plateau of Entre Deux Mers, 20mn drive south-east of Saint-Emilion. Enjoying an exceptional terroir, very similar to the terroir of Saint-Emilion and Côtes de Castillon, this vineyard produces wines of great elegance and extreme finesse which can stand out amongst the top wines of the Bordeaux Superieur appellation and can compare to wines of more noble producing areas in Bordeaux.

Dominique Meneret, owner of Domaine de Courteillac, had his first contact with wine at the age of six months when his father passed a finger dipped in a glass of Saint-Emilion across his lips. He was born in the celebrated town, the cradle of Grand Crus and a UNESCO World Heritage site. His family owned the Grand Cru Classé Château Larmande.

After founding in 1988 the wine merchant company named Bernard & Meneret, which became later-on Ballande & Meneret, he purchased Domaine de Courteillac in 1997.
In 2006 Dominique Meneret retires from the merchant business, after having purchased and sold the most well-known “Crus Classés” of Bordeaux for thirty years.
He did not however quit the world of wine and now spends all his energy in the management and promotion of Domaine de Courteillac.
