Ca Rugate
Details:
The name Ca’Rugate is derived from the volcanic hill where the Tessari family has most of its vineyards. The soft inclinations of these hills create great wines because of their fantastic location, special microclimate and unique soil composition. The Tessari family prides itself on its respect for terroir, tradition and a passion for viticulture, inspired by a firm conviction that quality is created firstly in the vineyard and then in the cellar.
These wines from Valpolicella and Soave are as far removed from the old cheap and cheerful reputation of these appellations as it is possible to be. They are amongst the leaders of the undoubted quality revolution in the Veneto. Their Monte Fiorentine Soave keeps on winning Tre Bicchiere in the Gambero Rosso almost every year and their Ripasso style Campo Lavei is rich and is packed with cherry fruit.
