In Stellenbosch, the premier wine growing region of the Cape, the grapes are picked from the foothills of the Bottelary hills. In the Franschhoek Valley, where the grapes are harvested at high altitude, the vines hug the cliffs and mountain. The Helderberg vineyards are cooled by the prevailing breezes from the False Bay coast.
