LE QUATTRO TERRE FRANCIACORTA
Details:
Established in 2006 by the Vezzoli family in an 18th-century farmhouse. Giorgio Vezzoli is the head of the winery. The name “Le Quattro Terre” translates to “The Four Soils,” reflecting the diversity of terroirs in the Franciacorta region where the soils are particularly, rich in sand and silt, generally poor in clay, often highly permeable. Franciacorta benefits greatly from the lake’s proximity, which has a significant tempering effect.
Le Quattro Terre do manual harvesting, carefully selecting the best grapes. Fractioning and parcelling of fermentations to emphasise and manage separately the grapes from the seven areas of Franciacorta from which they originate. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks or barriques with selected yeasts. Aging is in the bottle in contact with the lees for a minimum period of 18 months. Extremely low sugar dosage to emphasis the expression of the terroirs. There is a strong focus on post-dosage bottle aging to present wines in perfect balance.
