Fiona Beckett – Cork Matching Food & Wine Workshop

We’re delighted to welcome back Fiona Beckett, award winning journalist and blogger of matchingfoodandwine.com. This year Fiona will be exploring how seasoning affects your wine choice.
There’s still a perception than wine doesn’t really work with spicy food but there are so many different spices, so many cuisines in which they’re involved that that couldn’t possibly be true. This workshop will explore the effect of different levels of heat, preparation and the difference between fresh and dried spices and herbs to find out which spices and dishes are the most wine-friendly and which wines the most versatile.
Kate Lawlor, head chef at Fenn’s Quay has created four locally inspired dishes that showcase some great local produce. We’ll be matching two wines with each dish to discuss how the differnet seasonings change or complement the wines.
